AHHH, the LOVE of a new beginning!!
Hay everyone, it's me..... Gabriela!
I did not get lost in the shuffle, I promise!
I have recently partnered up with a friend, Norma Ayala, in a business that we are nothing but passionate about.
We have started an Organic Farm, and are expanding into a Sustainable Retreat Center.
We are in the beginning stages and without a doubt, it is a labor of love.
Norma, who worked for Dell for many years, decided that the 9-5 wasn't fulfilling her soul. All she knew is that she wanted to be outdoors, in nature, and in the sun! She took a very brave risk and left Dell and started her own Landscaping business with the help of an older gentleman friend who believed in her, not only as a self reliant woman, but as a go getter that would make her dreams come alive. He helped her make the leap from a "rat on the wheel" job, to one that allowed her to express herself, alone, and then to expand her talents and visions into a self made business that has not only sustained herself, but a crew of talented men that now service the better part of Austin with impeccable landscape design and such detail oriented work that would turn any regular yard or home into one that you'd show off to any one that has a taste for the good things in life.
Meanwhile, Me..... Gabriela, who had been working at an Italian Restaurant for several years, had been getting ancy, wanting to be outdoors as well. Out of the growing corporate world that was no longer satisfying my taste buds.
One day, Norma, who had been servicing my home for several years, came to the house one day and we were chatting in my driveway. We had cultivated a friendship from afar. I was never usually home when they would come, and too, I stay to myself, as you all well know, so when people come, I dart in and out, and maybe chat for a bit, if that!
This one day, we had met in the driveway and we were talking about our lives, our wish lists, and what we were currently doing to fulfill those things.
Well, she was partly there, but not all the way, and I was ready like nobodies business, wanting to break free of my managerial position, and ready to be in the sun, in nature, and doing something that could give back in some way, to our planet, our community, and to myself.
I said to her, "Do you have a position for me?" She said, right away, "Yes, I will create one". Quit your job!
I was like, "Holy Butter Beans Batman", are you sure? She said, "YES".
We both got so excited and it was a wild moment of........... UUUHHH........OK...........I have been at my job for 4 years......... solid paycheck....... benefits.......... and I loved all of my clientele! I felt like I had created a huge family base in the restaurant, employees that stole my heart, and well.......... I had to take a huge gulp and consider.
Two seconds later, I said, "OK, I will give my 2 weeks notice".
We kind of high fived it, and said we would be in touch.
Two days later I gave my 2 weeks notice and thought, "WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING?"
Since then, I have been so unbelievable happy and working toward a goal I have been wanting for many, many years.
We have joined forces in continuing a beautiful landscape design business, but are diligently designing and crafting an amazing Retreat Center and Farm that will provide people with not only produce, but fresh organic eggs from our chickens, fresh meat from our chickens, goat cheese from our beautiful, sweet, and personality laden goats, and food from me, Gabriela, who will be making foods from what we grow in our gardens.
This is all a slow process folks.
I wanted to start the process of telling you where I am, since it has seemed like I had dropped off the face of the earth.
I have been so busy trying to create something for us that will keep us all connected, and too, raise a consciousness that beckons me everyday, in many forms and fashions.
Right now, we have beautiful organic eggs for sale. $4.50 a dozen.
I know that may seem pricey, but trust me when I tell you........... how amazingly different they taste!
Just knowing what they were fed, ( Organic greens, vegetable, fruits, grains.... the love they were given, and how there is a respect for the animal that is providing a life force for us!
WOW....WOW....AND WOW.....!!!!!
Email me or post on my blog if you are interested in being a part of our Farm.
We do have the eggs for sale now, and more in the following days, weeks and months.
Stay with us.
We really do have your best interest at heart, as well as providing a community that will stick together in this time, the crazy economy, and trying to figure the best way that we can all live harmoniously together, doing great things for ourselves, globally and locally.
Let's do the "hold hands" thing.
It really does work.
Whether you are in tune with this or not, you will feel the love that is infused with this project.
I am so super passionate about it and truly want to involve my friends, and acquaintances that have crossed my path over the years.
Stay tuned for my video's, pics, and goin' on's about the farm, our animals and what we are doing next.
I promise you, you will be awe struck!
More soon.
Thank you for always inquiring about my blog, what I am doing, and what is happening.
I feel honored to have you a part of my small little world.
All my love and gratitude,
Gabriela

Good for you! I'm so happy to hear you are doing something that is align with who and what you are in such an organic way. And by the way, at the farmer's markets in LA, that is the normal price for organic eggs! Much love to you! YLRH
